Philippine Art Awards Visual Art Competition To Be Made More Exciting
In light of recent events and in the continuing effort to make the Philippine Art Awards (PAA) competition relevant and more exciting, the organizer of the Philippine Art Awards has decided to defer the announcement of this year’s regional winners from November 28, 2013 to the new date of March 6, 2014.
This will enable the Philippine Art Awards to better prepare for the Awarding and Opening of Exhibition for the Regional Winners of 2013 to make it bigger and more exciting. On March 6, 2014, at the same time that the regional winners are announced, the national winners of the Philippine Art Awards 2014 shall likewise be declared.
Albeit a prolonged wait, it is hoped that the artists and the artistic community in general, will appreciate the exciting lead up to the new Awards date with a lot more to look forward to. Not only will the regional winners be receiving their trophies and cash prizes, eight of them shall also receive their additional trophies and cash prizes as the national winners of Philippine Art Awards 2014.
Forty regional winners from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and Metro Manila will receive trophies and Php 40,000. At the national level, the Grand Prize Winner will receive Php 350,000 plus trophy, the Jurors’ Choice Award of Excellence will receive Php 120,000 plus trophy and the Jurors’ Choice Award of Merit will receive Php 80,000. The PAA trophy is designed by National Artist Napoleon Abueva. All the national winners will also an all-expenses paid trip to an Asian country to be determined at a later time.
